How photo skin analysis works
AI Skin Analyzer turns a submitted facial photo into a versioned cosmetic report. Photo preparation, account access and the report version all affect what you can usefully learn.
1. Prepare a suitable photo
Use a clear, front-facing photo of one face. Face indirect daylight and keep the lighting even across both cheeks. Keep your face inside the capture guide, with the camera steady and the image in focus.
- Avoid beauty filters, glare, strong shadows and mixed lighting.
- Keep your framing and lighting similar when taking another photo. Image differences can change visual estimates.
- Use the upload screen to choose a photo or open the camera workflow. Opening the camera requires browser permission.
Capture checks assess whether an image is suitable for processing. They do not validate a diagnosis or guarantee a reliable cosmetic measurement.
2. Sign in and submit your photo
You can browse the analysis screen without an account. Sign-in is required before submitting a photo for scan processing and saved history. A submitted photo is sent to the backend; processing is not entirely on your device.
The workflow checks photo quality and may ask for a retake. A failed check or unavailable assessment should not be interpreted as a finding about your skin. Processing time varies, and the service can ask you to retry when it is busy.
Read Data handling before uploading. Privacy and terms documents still require approved publication.
3. Read the report for its analysis version
The default historical v1.1 pipeline can return heuristic visual estimates, a cosmetic aggregate and general routine suggestions. Image-derived estimates of texture, line prominence, acne-like appearance or uneven tone do not establish a medical cause. The Cosmetic Appearance Score is not a validated skin-health score.
The controlled v1.3-safe-insights beta returns capture checks, assessment limitations and generic cosmetic routine guidance. It does not provide numeric cosmetic scores, severity ratings or condition-targeted treatment. Beta access requires operator enrollment; creating an account does not grant it.
Saved reports keep their original version. They are not recalculated when access or the active analysis version changes. Review the version and limitations before interpreting a report or comparing photos.
