Skin analysis questions and limitations
Direct answers about cosmetic photo analysis, report versions and account access. These explain the product; they are not medical advice.
What is AI Skin Analyzer?
AI Skin Analyzer is an online tool for AI-assisted cosmetic skin analysis from a facial photo. It checks photo quality and returns a versioned report with general skincare information. It does not diagnose disease or measure skin health.
How accurate is analysis from a selfie?
Results depend on lighting, focus, framing and the analysis version. The service has no independently validated clinical accuracy rate. Image-derived appearance estimates are not calibrated probabilities or medical measurements.
Does every report contain a cosmetic score?
No. Historical v1.1 reports can contain heuristic visual estimates and a Cosmetic Appearance Score, which is not a skin-health score. The controlled v1.3-safe-insights beta uses capture checks, assessment limitations and general routine guidance without numeric cosmetic scores or severity ratings. Your saved report identifies its analysis version.
How do I take a suitable photo?
Use a sharp, front-facing photo of one face in even, indirect daylight. Keep the face clearly framed and avoid filters, glare and strong shadows. Capture checks can ask you to retake a photo; passing them does not make the result medically reliable.
Do I need an account to submit a scan?
Yes. You can explore the upload screen before signing in, but submitting a photo for analysis requires authentication. Saved reports and history are associated with your account.
Can I join the safe-insights beta by registering?
Registration does not enroll you in the beta. Safe-insights access is controlled by the service operator. Existing reports keep their stored analysis version and are not recalculated when beta access changes.
Can a photo diagnose acne or another skin condition?
This service cannot diagnose acne, inflammation, skin-barrier disease or other medical conditions. It is not a dermatologist replacement. Consult a qualified healthcare professional for persistent or concerning symptoms.
What happens to my uploaded photo?
Submitted photos are sent to the backend for analysis and saved history. Report access requires sign-in, while temporary signed image links can be used by anyone holding them until they expire. See Data handling for access and deletion limitations; approved privacy and terms documents have not yet been published.
